In April 2024, French ship owner SOCATRA, a prominent ship owner and operator in France, specializes in providing innovative solutions for both deep-sea and inland waterway oil transportation, entered into a strategic partnership with SETH to equip its six 7,850 DWT asphalt carriers with SETH‘s advanced hybrid power systems. These vessels, financed by the international ship owner SOCATRA, were designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute and constructed by China Merchants Jinling Dingheng (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. SETH has been entrusted with delivering a comprehensive hybrid power system solution for this fleet.
The series of vessels measure 119.30 meters in length, 20.40 meters in width, and 11.00 meters in depth, with a design draft of 6.70 meters. These ships are equipped with SETH's hybrid power system solution, which supports both PTO and PTH modes. In PTO mode, the system provides a shaft power of 900 kW, while in PTH mode, it delivers a propulsion power of 1,100 kW. This system not only enhances energy efficiency and environmental sustainability but also offers significant economic benefits. The entire hybrid power system is certified by the BV. Notably, SETH had already obtained the BV type approval certificate as early as 2019, demonstrating its capability to meet the stringent product certification standards.
