The 4,600 TEU container ship commissioned by Shanghai Zhonggu Logistics measures 228 meters in length, 40 meters in width, and 19.6 meters in depth, with a design draft of 14 meters and a service speed of 15 knots. Classed by the China Classification Society (CCS), the vessel is equipped with SETH’s S-Hybrid shaft propulsion system. A total of 18 vessels have been ordered, to be constructed by Yangzijiang Shipyard and Jinling Shipyard. This new-generation coastal container ship is designed for domestic offshore navigation and will significantly enhance the operational capacity of China Grain Logistics’ fleet of 116 container ships, bringing renewed vitality to its maritime operations.
The SETH’s S-Hybrid shaft propulsion system delivers a shaft power of 1,100 kW. The scope of supply for this project includes shaft generator frequency converter, a shaft motor, and an isolation transformer. Notably, the shaft motor utilizes the domestically developed and independently produced 1,000kW marine low-speed permanent magnet shaft motor, manufactured by CSSC Electrical Machinery Science & Technology Co., Ltd. The shaft power generation system leverages the main engine's output to drive the shaft motor, generating a stable and reliable power supply with consistent frequency and voltage. This system meets the entire ship's power load requirements during voyages, achieving significant fuel savings and reducing the vessel's operating costs.
