Recently, the 15,000 GT LNG dual-fuel chemical tanker the TERN LAND, equipped with SETH’s hybrid power system was successfully delivered to its Swedish owner for operation. The technical team from SETH provided comprehensive support throughout the process, successfully completing all sea trial tasks and ensuring a smooth delivery. This vessel marks the fourth ship served by SETH for the Swedish ship owner Terntank and the shipyard Yangzhou Dingheng. The first vessel, the TERN ISLAND, and the second, the TERN FORS, have been operating safely for nearly four years. While the third, the TERN VIK, was delivered in April 2025 and has been performing normally in all operations. The performance indicators of these vessels have been highly praised by the Swedish ship owner Terntank, the shipyard Yangzhou Dingheng, and the Bureau Veritas (BV).

The TERN LAND has an overall length of 147 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a service speed of 14.5 knots, an endurance of 6,600 nautical miles and it is classed by BV. SETH provided design for the hybrid power system and manufactured the core DC bus bar (DC-LINK) system, and it is equipped with a 424 kWh battery, a 1,000 kW permanent magnet shaft generator, variable frequency load drives, a high-quality daily power supply, a high-voltage shore power connection, and an Energy Management System (EMS). The hybrid power system supports PTO and PTH functions, enabling intelligent switching between power modes. Its EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) is 40% lower than the Phase III standards set for 2025. This not only enhances energy efficiency and environmental performance across various operating conditions but also significantly improves the vessel's safety.

In 2020, SETH partnered with Swedish ship owner Terntank for the first time, marking our initial export of domestically produced equipment and our first step into the global market. Over five years, through seven vessels and two repeat orders, SETH has earned strong recognition from Terntank. From serving Chinese ships to serving international vessels, SETH has now achieved a global track record of over 726 vessels, with more than 104 operating overseas. These include projects in Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Indonesia, Singapore, Greece, the Netherlands, Thailand, Mauritius, Malaysia, and other countries. The breadth of SETH’s global reach continues to expand, accelerating our internationalization process. Currently, CSSC SETH has fully established our own overseas after-sales service capabilities, covering equipment maintenance, fault response, and technical support through a localized service network. This addresses concerns from international ship owners about potential "service gaps" from Chinese enterprises. Our overseas after-sales support system, which is readily accessible and responsive, enables the continuous extension of CSSC SETH value, laying a solid foundation for our company’s globalization.
