On June 16, 2025, CSSC Ship Electric Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone as its self-developed containerized battery system (S-Container) obtained the Type Approval Certificate from Bureau Veritas (BV). This marks the world’s first BV Type Approval for a containerized battery system as well as another significant qualification breakthrough of CSSC SETH following the company’s lithium iron phosphate battery system receiving the same certification on June 11, 2025.

The journey to this global breakthrough was fraught with challenges. CSSC SETH extends its sincere gratitude to the technical experts at BV’s headquarters in France and the product team in Shanghai for their dedication and professional guidance. It was their "wisdom" and "expertise," combined with CSSC SETH’s "persistence" and "hard work," that made this historic achievement possible.

To date, CSSC SETH’s full range of self-developed products, including electronic frequency converter (applicable to S-DE solution, S-Shaft solution, and S-Renewable solution), has earned type approval from seven leading international classification societies: CCS, BV, RINA, DNV, LR, ABS and NK. Meanwhile, its battery systems (both cabin-style and containerized) have secured type approval from CCS and BV, with plans to expand certification to other major international classification societies.
