Recently, CSSC SETH has recently secured a contract to supply the shafting systems for six 2,499 DWT product tankers. These 73-meter vessels were ordered by PRIMA MARINE, a subsidiary of Thailand's NATHALIN Group, and are being constructed by Ningbo Zhenhe Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. with design expertise provided by FKAB Marine Design Co., Ltd. Specifically tailored for optimized operations in Thailand's coastal and riverine waters, the tankers feature five pairs of epoxy-coated cargo tanks and one pair of fouling oil tanks. The vessels are classed by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and will sail under the Thai flag with unrestricted navigation area certification.

The series of tankers are equipped with CSSC SETH’s gearbox-type shaft generator system, featuring a 310kW shaft generator and core frequency converter utilizing CSSC SETH’s proprietary technology. The system delivers stable, constant-frequency power through an advanced frequency converter and filtering setup, capable of operating independently or in parallel with the ship’s auxiliary generators. The shaft generator system is one of the energy-saving and environmentally friendly solutions adopted in the vessel's design. In addition to this, it also includes FKAB's patented low-resistance F-Bow hull form, biodiesel-powered main engines, and LED lighting, among others.

To date, CSSC SETH has successfully implemented its S-Shaft solution in over 300 vessels, with the segment now consistently securing 10+ orders per month. The CSSC SETH S-Shaft system has proven to be a reliable and energy-efficient solution, delivering significant fuel savings.
